In this four-week, live-teaching series, kids will hear stories from the beginning of the world when everything was awesome! After that, kids will see that everything was not so awesome, because of sin. But since God is still awesome, he can work all things together for the good of those who love him.

Listen to the story from Week 1: God Makes Everything Awesome, Genesis 1-2

What’s your favorite thing God created?

Read: Genesis 1-2, Colossians 1:15-17
In the beginning, God created the universe and everything in it. It wasn’t always here. It didn’t spontaneously come into being on its own. God ordered all of creation and set everything in place according to his grand design and purpose.

In Colossians, we learn that Jesus is the firstborn over all creation. That doesn’t mean he was the firstborn of creation. Jesus was in existence with God the Father and the Holy Spirit from eternity. Jesus was there at creation, and was also the agent of creation. All things were made by him, through him and for him.

After each day of creation, God looked at what he had made and saw that it was good. Everything has been created with purpose and intentionality. Creation reveals God’s infinite goodness, wisdom and creativity. Psalm 19:1 says, “The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork.” The universe itself declares the glory of God. When we contemplate the design and the order of the world around us—the beauty and magnificence of the mountains, the brilliance of color in a sunrise or sunset, the power and intensity of the ocean, the expanse of the starry night sky—we cannot help but praise our awesome Creator God.

What about creation inspires you to worship God?
What does it mean that all things were made for God (Colossians 1:15-17)?
What changes for you when you believe that everything God made was on purpose, rather than accidental?

“We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God,” Romans 8:28.

Our Elementary curriculum is written for 1st through 5th graders. Through exciting videos, or live teaching in the rooms, kids explore stories from the Bible each month. Beginning with Creation, and moving in chronological order throughout the year, kids learn that God is our Creator, his son Jesus is our Savior, and he is loving, healing, miraculous, and personal. Kids learn about baptism, how to pray, how they can be more like Jesus, and how they can help others. In a large group format, elementary kids sing and dance to worship songs, then meet fun characters and play games that introduce them to the concept of the series. After the story, kids transition to small group activities, designed to be led by an adult. We hope elementary kids learn through interactive content, and begin to grow in their understanding of who Jesus is and how to follow him.
